08 Feb Think You Have Emotional Intelligence? You Might Want to Think Again
We all believe we’re self-aware. Most of us are wrong.
Research shows that while 95% of people think they’re self-aware, only 10–15% actually are. That gap? It’s where trust erodes, communication breaks down, and emotional blind spots collide with reality.
The moments that test our EQ are never scheduled. They show up in conflict, pressure, and feedback. And if we haven’t trained for it, we’ll default—not rise.
Leader Tip:
- Ask for micro-feedback after tough moments.
- Check your wake after conversations, and what emotional ripple did you leave?
- Expand your vocabulary. Swap “fine” for something real, agitated, hopeful, drained, or inspired.
Emotional intelligence isn’t a soft skill. It’s a performance strategy.
